PharmaBee provides Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for eligible adults as part of a structured and clinically supervised weight management programme. All prescriptions are reviewed by our team following a thorough online consultation. If appropriate, your medication is dispensed from our UK pharmacy and delivered discreetly to your door.
Mounjaro is a once-weekly prescription injection that works by activating two hormone pathways involved in appetite and blood sugar regulation — GLP-1 and GIP receptors. In the SURMOUNT clinical trial programme, participants achieved average weight reductions of approximately 20–21% of their starting body weight at the highest maintenance dose over around 72 weeks.

What Is Mounjaro?
Mounjaro contains the active ingredient tirzepatide. It is a once-weekly prescription injection used to support weight management in adults who meet specific clinical criteria. Tirzepatide works by activating both GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) receptors.
By acting on both pathways, Mounjaro helps reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, support lower calorie intake, and improve blood glucose regulation.
Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above with at least one weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnoea. It is not a cosmetic treatment or a quick fix.
How Is Mounjaro Taken?
Mounjaro is supplied as a pre-filled injection pen.
Treatment begins at 2.5mg weekly and increases gradually in stages. Gradual dose escalation helps reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Your pharmacist will decide the appropriate dose schedule for you.
Who Is Mounjaro Suitable For?
Mounjaro may be suitable for adults who meet BMI criteria, have struggled to lose weight with lifestyle changes alone, are willing to make ongoing dietary and activity changes, and do not have contraindications. It may not be appropriate for individuals with personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer, MEN2, history of pancreatitis, type 1 diabetes, or pregnancy/breastfeeding.
Ongoing Monitoring and Clinical Review
Weight management treatment requires monitoring. During treatment, our team may review weight change, side effects, tolerability, dose adjustments, and ongoing eligibility. If treatment is not effective after an appropriate period at a maintenance dose, it may be discontinued.
What Happens If I Stop Mounjaro?
Mounjaro supports appetite regulation while it is being used. If stopped without maintaining lifestyle changes, appetite may increase and weight regain can occur. Weight management should be viewed as a long-term health strategy rather than a short-term intervention.
How effective is Mounjaro?
In the SURMOUNT clinical trial, participants at the highest maintenance dose (15mg) achieved average weight reductions of approximately 20–21% over around 72 weeks. These are averages from controlled trials — individual results vary and participants also received structured lifestyle support.
How quickly will I lose weight?
Weight loss typically develops gradually over months rather than weeks.
What are the realistic expectations?
Mounjaro works best combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Long-term success involves sustainable behavioural changes. If treatment is stopped and lifestyle changes are not maintained, weight regain is common.

Common Side Effects
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal and tend to occur during dose increases:
These effects are usually mild to moderate and often improve with time.
More Serious Side Effects
More serious but less common risks include:
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop severe abdominal pain, especially if it spreads to your back. Full safety information is available in the Patient Information Leaflet.
Medicine Interactions
Because Mounjaro slows gastric emptying, it may affect how some oral medicines are absorbed. It may also alter blood sugar levels in people taking insulin or other diabetes medicines. You must provide full details of all prescription medicines, over-the-counter treatments, herbal remedies, supplements, and other weight loss treatments.
